Early Years Family Support

What is Together We Begin

Together We Begin is a supportive, family-focused programme designed to help parents build confidence, strengthen relationships, and give their children the best possible start in life.

Delivered by OAK Community Development, the programme provides free, personalised support for expectant parents and families with young children (0–5 years), particularly those from BAME communities who may face additional barriers to accessing support.

What We Offer:

We work alongside families in a way that is friendly, flexible and culturally understanding. Through regular home visits and one-to-one support, we help parents to:
- Develop positive parenting skills and build strong, nurturing relationships with their children
- Create healthy routines around sleep, play and daily life
- Support their child’s early learning, communication and development
- Improve their own wellbeing, confidence and emotional resilience
- Access local services, groups and opportunities within their community
Our approach is strength-based, meaning we recognise and build on what families are already doing well, while gently supporting them to overcome challenges.
